Wanted: Indies in Manchester area for video interview trial

Hi guys.

One of the things that seems to be missing from the site, apart from a ton of news (we do get news info sent along, but its hard to get the time to devote to spreading it versus doing the interviews, which probably has more value right now until we get an automated news feed system), is a more personal touch to some of the interviews. By that I mean that currently you never get to see the actual creator, rather than the games they have created.

In an effort to step up the production values of the site. I’d like to trial a video round-table discussion. By this, I mean I’d like to get a few indies in a room somewhere, give them some subjects to discuss and then video the results. I find talking to other developers incredibly interesting and hearing what others say first hand is very valuable.

The plan right now, is to find any developers who are interested in doing an hour and a half or so of discussion on camera, edit it down to a couple of half hour shows and then take it from there.

So, I’d just like to ask, if there are any indie developers in and around the North West region, preferably within easy reach of Manchester (well, ok, specifically Bolton) who would be up for spending a few hours talking about games development, design, business, indieness, britishness etc? If you are such a person, please get in touch using the contact form (its in the menu bar on the left just under the britishindie.com title).

Note: If this works out alright, it’s likely we’ll do more sessions in other parts of the country. But for that we’ll need to find some external funding or sponsorship, mainly to pay for the venue.

Please get in touch.

Phil Carlisle (Indie developer and BritishIndie.com editor).
