Developing a mini game
No, I’m not talking of a game about mini’s. Or even a small game embedded in another. I’m talking about developing for the new PSP Go!
For those of you who dont know what “mini’s” are, they are digitally distributed games for the PSP platform. They are under 100mb in size and are accessed from the playstation store.
I’ve been looking into signing up for development across the Sony platforms recently. Which will come later in another post when I’ve gone through it. But while I was doing my research I came across this PDF file which discusses the PSP digital download/distribution platform.
Given the sheer number of people that are doing games for iPhone, it might seem a little strange to be thinking of PSP development. But the fact is, you are well advised to consider getting your games onto as many platforms as possible. If Sony are actively looking for PSP developers and are giving you a relatively painless channel for sales on thier platform, then it definitely deserves some consideration.

What with the XBLA submission process apparently tightening up, maybe developing mini’s is the way to go. But I’ll have more on that in a month or so.
I’m really interested in this, just waiting to see who takes the plunge first, as I’m sure a few developers are.
I decided having spent 6 months on an iPhone game that I just didn’t enjoy playing games on the platform, and anything I did for it would be for money alone, which is not what motivates me!
